In 1992 and 1993, the Oneida Indian Nation purchased land in the town.

On July 16, 1993 they opened the Turning Stone Resort & Casino.

The Oneida Indian Nation designed the faucility to be convertable to a shopping mall.

This option was desireable in case the casino proved unviable for any reason.

Today the resort is a popular tourist destination in central New York State.

The casino holds many types of digital slot machines as well as table games.

In 2002, construction of a showroom provided the area's only Ticketmaster approved venue.

Several high class shows are hosted there throughout the year.

Past performers include Fergie, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Wayne Newton, and Bill Cosby.
