As with every trip to China, lots of huge billboards, banners and posters The photo of Liquid Blue is to the right of Michael's head We stayed at Yelan Bay Resort on the ocean in Sanya Another great Chinese feast The feasts are a daily occurrence when touring China (thanks to Benjamin) Choose your fresh fish In front of our hotel More great Chinese food We scored some great clothing buys at this local mall Promoter Benjamin and the group Kristen and Nikki taking a motorcycle cab Sanya is considered the "Hawaii" of China Time to go Sanya is located on Hainan Island, which is just slightly smaller than Taiwan Drinking local "PU" tea, one of the highest grades of Chinese teas The Sanya Music Festival celebrated Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) Explosives and fireworks fired at the beginning of our set Our show was carried live on CCTV throughout China The stage was outdoors and faced the beach This was our 6th "major" show in China The stage and lighting were at the typical high Chinese standards The hosts were from CCTV, the major network in China Michael performed a classical guitar piece followed by a heavy rock solo We were the only band from the USA Millions viewed the show on CCTV Chinese New Year is China's biggest celebration There were simultaneous celebrations happening in all major Chinese cities; Beijing, Shanghai, etc. CCTV would go to the Beijing celebration, then Shanghai, then back to Sanya, etc. Many government officials from Beijing came to the island to celebrate Spring Festival Fireworks went off in the sky continuously during the show None of us had ever seen so many fireworks in our lifetime.
