Liquid Blue has been fast at work laying down tracks for the new album "Supernova" at Western Recorders in Los Angeles. Several well known groups have been working in the same studio, which contains several separate rooms. These artists include Madonna, Incubus, Tom Petty, Helmet & others.

As
a Drummer, Mark Schulman is currently on one of the most
successful tours of the year with CHER. He has recently
toured/recorded with STEVIE NICKS, SHERYL CROW, FOREIGNER, BILLY
IDOL, STEVE STEVENS, DAVID BENOIT, and DAVE KOZ. Mark’s live
credits also include AL GREEN, HEART, DESTINY’S CHILD, MELISSA
ETHERIDGE, and the O' JAYS. He is prominently featured in the VH1
Storytellers with Billy Idol. |
| In 2001, Mark also appeared on David Letterman, Jay Leno and the Radio Music Awards with STEVIE and SHERYL. This year, Mark has appeared on Letterman, Rosie O’Donnell, the VH1 Diva’s special and the soon to be released NBC CHER special. Mark will appear on the new Liquid Blue CD on a track called Making Up. He also co-wrote a track for the CD with Scott Stephens called "Arms Of Love". | |

Joe Chiccarelli has chosen to produce the Liquid Blue debut CD at historic Western Recorders on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. Western has been known as L.A.'s premiere studio since the 1960's. The band will be in the studio starting on Monday, Nov 24th through Jan 3rd.. |

Liquid Blue has inked a deal with one of the hottest up & coming drummers on the scene today, Jordan Medina. Jordan, (nicknamed is "Funky Cold Kid") is a 21 year old apprentice of the legendary drummer Zoro and has been called one of today's most promising young musicians. Jordan is truly a student of the drums and is a well established session player. He's already received two company endorsements. Guitarist Michael Vangerov stated "This is a new era for Liquid Blue as we prepare to record our debut CD. The band just took a big step forward". |

Liquid Blue performed at the world famous Greenbrier Resort on October 14th on a bill that featured former US presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. as guest speakers. The Greenbrier Resort was built in 1780 and has been named the number one Resort & Spa in the United States several times. Many US Presidents have frequented the resort, including Thomas Jefferson. During the cold war, bunkers were built to house the President & Congress in the event of an attack. This was made public just a few years ago. The resort sits on 6,500 acres in the scenic Allegheny Mountains in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. |

Liquid Blue has been nominated for Best Cover or Tribute band for the third year consecutive year. The band won the award last year. Voting will be held until October 4th. | Liquid Blue performed on the maiden voyage of the just built Island Princess cruise liner, from Princess Cruises. The cruise ran from Vancouver, Canada, to Alaska. The band performed for two weeks, from July 26th to August 9th. The 2nd week was a special media only event. View Photos Here. |

BlueGirl "Layla" reached the finals of the U.S. Surfing Championships held in Oceanside, CA. and finished third in the surfing category for females age 18-29. BlueGirl Nikki Geasland did a solo version of the National Anthem for the Padres / Giants game at Qualcomm Stadium, Sunday, July 6th at 1pm. The BlueGirls have sung the anthem at Qualcomm many times, but Nikki is the first to do it as a solo performer. |

Liquid Blue performed at Oceanfest for the U.S. Surfing Championships in Oceanside, CA on June 27th at 7pm at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater. |

Liquid Blue performed on the boardwalk of the Kennedy Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey for the Race Across America Event on June 25th. This race went from San Diego to New Jersey on bicycles. The band performed at the starting line as well as the finish line. |
| Liquid Blue was chosen to perform the National Anthem for the San Diego Padres at their biggest event of the year, KGB's sky show. There were over 54,000 fans in attendance. 2003 was the third year in a row that the band has performed at Sky Show. The BlueGirls also sang the anthem on May 15th at Qualcomm and their unique performance landed them on national television on ESPN's sports center, TNN and other networks! | |

| Liquid Blue guitarist Michael Vangerov has signed a deal with Neal Moser, to build and produce a custom signature guitar designed by Michael himself. Neal Moser is the designer of the BC Rich "Bich" guitar, played by the likes of Joe Perry and others. Michael was selected due to his phenomenal playing ability, his international exposure with Liquid Blue and his unique guitar design. Production of the guitar line will start next month. | |
| Liquid Blue's champion surfer Layla Laxa competed in two Pro/Am surfing events on April 6th and reached the finals in both! The events were held in Mission Beach. Layla won her first heat in both contests which put her in the finals. She finished 2nd in the first event and 3rd in the next event and collected two more surfing trophies. She has now reached the finals in 6 of 7 events she has participated in and is still the current World Bodysurfing Champion as well. She's also teaching surfing and was recently was featured in a TV commercial for a local surf school. | |
| Liquid Blue performs a show at the Encinitas Street Fair on April 5th from 2:30 to 5:00. Local favorites Ruby and the Red Hots will open the show at 11:00am. Michael Kelly, a cousin of Liquid Blue vocalist Scott Stephens, was killed April 2nd while reporting for the Washington Post in Iraq. He was imbedded with the Army's 3rd Infantry and was the first American journalist killed in the war. Mr. Kelly was the editor for the Atlantic Monthly and a columnist for the Washington Post and NY Times. He authored a book on the first gulf was called "Martyrs' Day." |

A fire ravaged through Fogerty's Pup the morning of April 4th. Fogerty's was a regular stop for Liquid Blue when the band was in San Diego. Liquid Blue played the very last weekend at the club less than one week before the unfortunate event and had performed at the club one weekend a month for the past several years. |

The band performed for the third year in a row at Opening Day for the Padres. This was the final opening day at Qualcomm Stadium. The attendance was 61,707, the largest opening day crowd in the teams 35 year history. |

The Premiere showing of Liquid Blue's concert footage from the recent tour of China was shown at Fogerty's in Escondido on Friday, Feb 28th. The overflow crowd was the largest attendance at Fogerty's in almost two years. The video will be shown at other selected venues later in the year. |

Liquid Blue performed the finale show which capped a week of first rate entertainment for the lucky folks at Wells Fargo, Inc. Other performers included Kenny Loggins and Cher. Liquid Blue performed using Cher's production, sound and lights. |

Three members of the Coasters joined Liquid Blue on stage at the Sahara Casino in Las Vegas for a powerful rendition of Mustang Sally. The Coasters were the very first band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. |

The BlueGirls made a promotional appearance at the NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants) in Anaheim, California, January 16-19. Liquid Blue has several sponsors who participated in the show including Sabine. The six BlueGirls caused quite a stir as they signed autographs and posed for photos with the crowd. They also hung out with several celebrities including Gene Simmons (Kiss), shown in photo (left) and others.

Liquid Blue performed on NBC's Morning Show on Sunday, January 12th at 7:00 a.m. The band did several original songs and two interviews. The show was aired live.

Over the past few years, Liquid Blue has become one of the busiest bands in the country. This year at the start of 2003 the band had already scheduled over 150 shows. Several of Southern California's hottest venues currently book the band monthly or bi-monthly. These include: Misty's in Ontario, Costas in Palm Springs, Viejas Casino in Alpine, Fogerty's in Escondido and the Boar Cross'n in Carlsbad. |
