Liquid Blue Visits Alberta Capital for First Time
-
11/24/2012
This will be the first visit to Edmonton and Calgary, the two major cities
of Alberta. Band leader Scott Stephens toured the Alberta province back in
1981 with the band Electric Warrior. On this tour the group performed in
many small and medium sized cities and towns in Alberta but did not do a
show in either Calgary or Edmonton. It was a small town summer tour and most
of the group regretted not seeing or playing in the well known, larger metro
areas. So 30 years later, Scott and Liquid Blue are hitting these places.
Edmonton is of course a city made famous by the man some called the greatest
hockey player ever to lace up the skates; Wayne Gretzky. The great one
helped Edmonton will four NHL Stanley Cup Titles in the 1980's before being
traded to the Los Angeles Kings. He did not win a cup with the Kings
although they did reach the finals once.

Greensboro, North Carolina is 500th City Visited for
Band
-
9/3/2012
Greensboro
was the 500th city visited on tour by Liquid Blue. It's famous for its civil
rights history.
On February 1, 1960, four black college students from North Carolina
Agricultural and Technical College sat down at an all-white
Woolworth's lunch counter, and refused to leave after they were denied
service. The four students purchased small items in other parts of the
store and kept their receipts, then sat down at the lunch counter and
asked to be served. After being denied service, they produced their
receipts and asked why their money was good everywhere else at the
store, but not at the lunch counter. Hundreds of others soon joined in
this sit-in, which lasted several months. Such protests quickly spread
across the South, ultimately leading to the desegregation of
Woolworth's and other chains. The original lunch counter and stools
where the four first sat are still in their original location, now
home to the International Civil Rights Center and Museum. The museum
opened on February 1, 2010, the 50th anniversary of the sit-ins.

"Wild West" Tour Includes 7 States
- 7/18/2012
The
band hit the road for a month, July 18th through August 11th performing 13
shows in seven Western and Midwestern states including:
Pebble Beach CA;
Livingston, Montana;
Rugby, North Dakota;
Omaha, Nebraska;
Le Mars, Iowa;
Rock Springs, Wyoming and
Sturgis, South Dakota. Along the way the group visited
Yellowstone National Park;
Mount Rushmore;
Crazy Horse
Memorial; Devils
Tower and many other historic sites. During the Wild West Tour the band
drew large crowds but the tour had its share of rock & roll insanity. Band
members got two speeding tickets within the first week; a band member was
knocked out cold just before a performance after entering into Extreme
Fighting; there was a gun pulled at an event in Wyoming involving a band
member; another band member walked right up to a Buffalo in Yellowstone (and
survived) and much more. Below is one of many newspaper articles written
about the bands appearance and below that is a photo from a show in Rock
Springs, Wyoming.

Ellis Hall III is Band's Newest Star -
2/1/2012
The statement "history repeats itself" certainly is true for Boston born
Ellis Hall III. "E-3", as he is referred to in music circles, has the
influences of his father, Ellis Hall jr (http://www.EllisHall.com),
the legendary soul singer, formerly of Tower of Power, to thank for his rich
musical beginnings. However, music was not his initial career pursuit. He
loves computers and studied graphic design, which led to an associate's
degree from Northern Essex Community College. Attended University of
Massachusetts Lowell on track scholarship. While working at a prestigious
publishing company, he came to the realization that music was his
destiny. Ellis is classified as a songwriter, producer as well as a
performing artist to make him one of the newest, freshest talents to hit the
music scene. Ellis
is currently mixing tracks in the bands studio for the upcoming new Liquid
Blue album.
