For the first time in more than five years, the band will be performing locally for New Year's Eve at the Pechanga Gala NYE Event. Tickets are $150 per person which includes steak and lobster dinner, 2 drinks and party favors. There is also a room package at $639 for two people. The past few new years the band has performed in Las Vegas.

The BlueGirls will perform the national anthem for the San Diego Chargers final home game this season at Qualcomm Stadium this Saturday, Dec 31st. The game is a sell-out and will be nationally televised.

"Real", the first hit single from Supernova, has been chosen as one of the best songs from 2005 by Next Big Hit.

Liquid Blue has been selected as a Spotlight Artist on the home page of Sonicbids.com, one of the leading internet sites for independent artists. The band will be featured from Dec 19th thru the 25th. Lou Paniccia, Member Relations Representative from Sonicbids, simply stated: "We dig your music".

The BlueGirls will appear at Staples Center three times in December, including appearances NBA's Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and NHL's Los Angeles Kings. They also perform at Arrowhead Pond for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks of the NHL. In January the girls will sing for the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden as well as the Boston Celtics at their new arena in Boston. Check the schedule for dates. Liquid Blue made history by being the first group to perform in the newly built Minhang Arena in Shanghai, China. The band sold out two consequtive shows with no opening act. The band performed a 90 minute set that included most of the songs from Supernova, including unplugged acoustic versions of "Real" and "If You Gotta Ask". Nikki Green did a stunning cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" and the band also performed four Chinese songs, to the delight of the crowd. Hollywood mayor Johnny Grant accompanied the band at the start of the tour.

Liquid Blue was back in China in November, with sold out shows at the new Minghan Arena in Shanghai. The band did three shows in Shanghai, selling out the 5000 seat arena twice (no other acts on the billing) and packing Century Plaza for one outdoor show. The 1st show was filmed for Chinese television. Fans lined up for autographs afterwards with newly purchased copies of Supernova in hand.

Media and promotion was at a fever pitch for Liquid Blue's long awaited return to China. Large billboards, signs and posters covered the city of Shanghai with concert information. Can you pick out the band members in the window of the photo to the left?

The official Chinese release of Supernova has hit stores throughout China to coincide with the bands upcoming appearances there. The CD contains 11 tracks, including one song not on the original version, "Let The Music Move You". The CD cover (shown left) is also different from the original version.

Back in 1997 the band went on their first of many overseas tours, to a resort in the Philippines. This year they traveled back to the same area and sponsored a local basketball team on the tiny island of Aliguay, in Mindinao.

New Music Weekly has selected nominees for The New Music Weekly Awards, which will be announced Nov 19th at the Key Club in Hollywood. Liquid Blue was chosen as Best New (Hot AC) Group of the Year.

Liquid Blue will be in Asia starting Sept 24th through the end of November. The band will visit Russia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and more. The final leg of the tour (November) will be in China where the band will perform in large theaters and arenas in many Chinese cities. The highlight of the tour is the Nov 10th and 11th performances at the Minhang Arena for the Shanghai International Arts Festival. "Anything Else But (War)" is the first music video from the Supernova album. Ironically, the song is not featured on recent versions of Supernova. Band members had very little input on direction of the video and are disappointed in the outcome. The low budget film can be viewed on this site starting 9/27/2005.

Band Radio has chosen Liquid Blue for Band of the Week, Sept 18-24. The company will soon be releasing Liquid Blue ringtones for sale.

Members of Liquid Blue were invited to walk the red carpet at the Hollywood China Film Festival at the Writers Guild Theatre in Beverly Hills on Friday, Sept 16th. Guests included Jackie Chan, Oliver Stone, Kevin Spacey, Pierce Brosnan, Fred Dryer and many others. Nikki Green and Scott Stephens did a short performance at the gala event.

For the 5th straight year Liquid Blue has been chosen as one of the top-ten dance bands in the USA at the National Music Awards. The band won the award in 2001.

Madison Square Garden

The BlueGirls will sing the National Anthem for the New York Knicks game on January 27th vs. the Orlando Magic. The band performs in concert the following night (Jan 28th) for the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in Camp Hill PA. They will also be singing the anthem for the Boston Celtics game two days earlier on Jan 25th. The Celtics are the NBA's all time franchise with a record 16 World Championships.

Liquid Blue will be featured 3 times on Adelphia Headline News on Wednesday, Sept 7th at either 6:54, 7:54, 8:54, 9:54, 10:54 or 11:54. The interview was conducted by popular on-air personality Lynn Harper, one of the most prominent names in the San Diego radio and TV world.

The band did several shows in Kansas City this week. Thursday night (Sept 1st) the BlueGirls performed the National Anthem at a Kansas City Royals MLB game. Actor Peter Falk threw out the first pitch and met with Nikki Green prior to the game. Friday was a party night with band members Nikki, Rocket and Michael all sitting in with some great local bands. On Saturday night the group did a show at the prestigious Mission Hills Country Club. Baseball Hall of Fame member and Kansas City Legend George Brett was in attendance and became a fan. Sunday morning Scott, Michael and Nikki performed acoustically at Unity Village for the 10:30 morning service. The trio received a long standing ovation for their performance of Real and George Harrison's My Sweet Lord.

Arms of Love, Making Up, and Rhythm of Love have all been selected as semi-finalists in the pop/rock category of the 2005 Dallas Songwriters Song Contest. Liquid Blue is the only artist with three songs selected. Last year If You Gotta Ask won the pop category and Real won the best movie soundtrack category. 2005 winners will be announced in November.

Liquid Blue has agreed to donate all profits from the sales of Supernova in the month of September to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

Give Me Back My Heart has won BEST POP SONG in the WRA (William Robert Abate) song competition for 2005. The WRA Song Competition selects songs that promote peace, love, community, and/or speak out against violence, war or hate. Founded in 1993, in conjunction with the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the original William Robert Abate Competition awards gifted artist for their achievements. The winning songs are a significant and lasting memorial to a young man named William Robert Abate who brought laughter, peace, love and kindness to the world. www.SongWinners.com

Liquid Blue has been selected to perform at the 2005 China Shanghai International Arts Festival. The event is the most prestigious of all the Chinese festivals and features 45 artists from 29 countries. Only three artists from the USA will appear; The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, The New York City Ballet and Liquid Blue. The band is the only "pop" act performing at the festival, which features renowned international acts such as Yo-Yo Ma and 45 others.

Supernova was nominated for Best Pop Album by the San Diego Music Awards academy members. This is the 5th year in a row that the band has been nominated for an award at SDMA. The awards show will be held at Humphrey's By The Bay on Monday, Sept 12th. Tickets available at www.Ticketmaster.com

Liquid Blue is a featured artist on TNT Volume 1 (Top New Talent) CD, which includes 12 artists from the America's Best Independent Artist program on PCT Music Records. The CD will be available in a variety of non-traditional music outlets such as college bookstores, convenience stores and more. The featured song on the compilation is Real. A special version of the Liquid Blue album Supernova will be sold alongside this compilation.

Although Liquid Blue has become known for extensive overseas travel, the band is also truly as LOCAL as it gets, having now performed in all 18 cities in their home county of San Diego. View a list of the 18 official incorporated cities within San Diego County, as well as live photos of the band.

To add to an already package 2005 schedule, Liquid Blue is performing a series of "unplugged" acoustic shows. The 2 hour set includes unplugged versions of every song from the Supernova LP, as well as selected covers.

An estimated crowd of 7000 witnessed Liquid Blue at the Lake Murray July 4th Music Fest in San Diego, CA. The annual all-day event featured 4 live bands and fireworks. The line-up included:

An estimated crowd of 5000 showed up to witness the Liquid Blue headline performance in Douglas, Arizona for their 100th Anniversary Festival. Other acts included Atrest, New Direction, El Paisano & Tony Tee. The event was held at Veterans Memorial Park in Douglas on July 3rd. The Douglas daily newspaper featured the band on the cover of the June 30th paper. While in Douglas the band stayed at the famous Gadsden Hotel, build in 1907, which has twice been featured on Unsolved Mysteries due to it's reputation for being "haunted".

Liquid Blue has performed songs on stage from many of our favorite artists over the years and now a young Canadian singer is covering the Liquid Blue song, Can't Stop It, from Supernova. The singer, Kelle Wardle, is fifteen years old and resides in Kelowna, British Columbia (population 103,000). Kelle is performing the song (among others) at shows throughout British Columbia. Nikki Green performed the Star Spangled Banner at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, June 29th. The game featured the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the San Diego Padres. This marked the 20th time members of Liquid Blue have sung the national anthem at pro sporting events. Liquid Blue has been invited to perform at the Call To Arts Festival sponsored by Artists Helping Artists on Sat, June 25th at Cal Poly Pomona. Michael Vangerov and Nikki Green will perform "unplugged" versions of If You Gotta Ask, Real and Rescue at 4:00.

UK Sounds will feature Give Me Back My Heart as Song of the Day on Friday, June 24th. The track will be featured on three site in the USA, UK and Austrailia, including UKsounds, USASounds and OZSounds.

Liquid Blue has an exciting summer planned with shows in many new venues across California. Stops will include Ventura County, Temecula, Los Angeles, Douglas Arizona, La Mesa, Palm Springs, Anaheim, Santee, Pismo Beach, Carlsbad, Mammoth Lakes, Alpine, Ontario and Kansas City. In the fall the band travels to Asia once again, for two months.

The Yamaha International Music Production Contest has announced their selections for semi-finalists for 2005. There were over 1000 songs entered in the contest and 45 were chosen as semi-finalists. Pretend was chosen in the rock category and Real was chosen in the category of Film Scoring/Orchestra/World. The judges included Randy Jackson (American Idol & 1000 gold albums), producer Don Davis (the Matrix, titanic), producer Justin Stanley, DJ Rap & Fourplay (Grammy Award winning jazz group). Liquid Blue was the only group to have 2 songs chosen. There are 50,000 worth of prizes to be awarded. Winner will be announced soon.

The title track from Supernova has been selected as a semi-finalist in the 2005 Mars Society Rouget d'Lisle Contest. Maggie Zubrin, Executive Director of the Mars Society stated "These girls could really energize the entire space movement. Sort of like musical rocket fuel". Just minutes before the BlueGirls were to sing the National Anthem for the San Diego Surf Dawgs minor league baseball game at Tony Gwynn Stadium, future hall of famer Rickey Henderson stopped by to greet the band. Rickey is truly the greatest lead-off hitter of all-time. His accomplishments are staggering: #1 ALL-TIME in runs scored, #1 ALL-TIME in stolen bases, #1 ALL-TIME in walks, #1 ALL-TIME in lead-off home runs. "If You Gotta Ask" has won the Artists Helping Artists (AHA) 2005 juried international song contest in the category of Spirit and Creative Force. This is the 4th major contest award for the song.

Rescue was an "Honor Award" winner in the 6th Annual Great American Song Contest.

Rescue received an Honorable Mention award from LyricAward.com in their March 2005 Global Lyrics & Poetry Contest. Their motto is "Changing the World With Words".

Liquid Blue will take the stage for their 1000th performance on May 9th in Cabo San Lucas. The band, in it's many incarnations, has been performing since 1996. Guitarist Michael Vangerov and vocalist Scott Stephens have been there for all of them and vocalist Nikki Green for most. Later this year on December 31st, the band will celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Supernova will be distributed in all 1200 Target store in the USA, starting April 15th. The CD will be specially featured with 25 other independent artists in the "America's Best Independent Artist" display.

So Close To Heaven is featured at Garageband.com as Track of the Week in the World Fusion category. 13 of Supernova's 14 songs have won awards to date.

The Music For Peace Project will sponsor Liquid Blue's April 9th concert in Limon, Costa Rica as the band dedicates this show towards peace along with hundreds of other artists around the world who will simultaneously hold "Music For Peace" concerts.

The band is back out on the road from March 28th to May 12th; this time touring Central America including several stops in Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama and the Cayman Islands.

The March 20th issue of Southbound Beat compares Liquid Blue's treatment of Indian pop music to Gloria Estefan's treatment of Latin pop music. The Tsunami Benefit compilation CD, Care Package has been released this week. "Show Me Love" is one of the featured song. 95% percent of the proceeds to will go directly to aid organizations such as UNICEF to help Tsunami victims.

Real continues to move up in the Charts, reaching number five this week in the A/C (Adult Contemporary) chart. The song has also reached the #46 position on the Hot 100, which includes all catagories. Real has also been selected for the BandRadio.com Airwaves II compilation CD, which is the third compilation CD in which Real has been featured.

The Association of Artists for a Better World has selected the Liquid Blue song "Rescue" for their upcoming compilation CD, "Songs For a Better Planet", which will be released in March. This is the third CD which has featured Rescue.

Scott Stephens met with long-time idol Jon Anderson in Los Angeles. Jon is the vocalist for the legendary band "YES" and one of Scott's biggest influences. Benjamin Chen, CEO of C&S Media and Liquid Blue's agent in the People's Republic of China, has secured a distribution contract with Shanghai Audio & Video Publishing Corporation. SAVP is the largest publishing house in China and will distribute Supernova throughout China. Liquid Blue is the first band from the United States to be signed by a Chinese company.

New Music Weekly, features a cover story on Liquid Blue in their Jan 14th issue. The past three cover stories have featured artists such as Nelly & Alicia Keys. Making Up was a Top Five Winner in the Song of the Year contest, in the World category, for Nov 2004. Song of the Year is part of VH1's Save the Music Foundation. Judges include Grammy Award Winners, Reps from Rolling Stone Magazine and ABC Television.

Liquid Blue members leaped into the new year by sky-diving in Las Vegas. The jump was sponsored by Go Fast Sports And Beverage Company. It was conducted by Vegas Extreme Skydiving, the foremost skydiving company in Nevada. Four band members and two street team members made the 10,000 foot jump on January 2nd.
