Nikki - vocals/keyboards

Nikki Green of Liquid Blue

Nikki Green was a Top-10 finalist in Chinese Idol (the Asian equivalent to American Idol) in 2009. MN Idol has more viewers than American Idol! She was the very first American to qualify for the finals which were held in Malaysia. In additional to her native English, Nikki sings in Mandarin, Taiwanese and Spanish. Nikki is the leader of the BlueGirls®. She plays keyboards, guitar and drums. When Liquid Blue is not on the road she performs acoustically with "Acoustic Blue". Nikki has a B.A in Business Administration from National University and has been with Liquid Blue since 1998.

Nikki is the "designated driver" of the band and the BlueGirls call her "mom". We've never seen her fully intoxicated. She secretly dreams of a much wilder existence. There have been various, unsubstantiated sightings of her at underground parties but these remain just rumors.

Michael - guitar/vocals

Michael Vangerov

Guitarist Michael Vangerov (known as the Grovler) is a native of Los Angeles and now resides in San Diego. The "Grovler" performed with band mate Scott Stephens in the band "Electric Warrior" as a teen. He became the guitarist for "Rhythm Tribe" who were signed to Elektra Records in the 1980's. He has his own signature guitar model produced and distributed by Neal Moser. A talent agent recently stated: "The bands long time phenom guitarist is in our opinion, the best lead guitarist to come along since Steve Lukather". Grovler has been with Liquid Blue since 1996. Also on guitar backing up the Grovler is young protégé Aiden Spencer.

The "Grovler" was groveling before anyone knew the word. His blue beard mysteriously grows naturally, so he says. He has always been interested in space travel and alien women.

Diana - vocals

Diana Ferrer

Singer/Dancer Diana Ferrer has a Bachelor in Science in Kinesiology and an Associate Degree in Dance from San Diego State University. In 2000 she was awarded Most Promising Entertainer of the year in San Diego and dubbed the "Selena" of San Diego. Went to school and trained in performance through Showcase Academy of the Performing Arts in 2006. Was a vocalist, dancer, choreographer finalist for World Championships of The Performing Arts 2006, in Hollywood California. She took home medals for 2nd place in vocal categories including; gospel, R & B, Broadway, hip hop, pop, rock and in two dance categories; hip hop and jazz.

Diana is full of energy on stage with a slight case of narcolepsy in cars, subways, airplanes, boats, and probably bikes, if it’s moving she’s sleeping!!

Ellis - keyboards/vocals

Ellis Hall

Ellis Hall III is a male lead vocalist / keyboard player who also plays drums. The statement "history repeats itself" certainly is true for Boston born Ellis Hall III. "E-3", as he is referred to in music circles, has the influences of his father, Ellis Hall jr (http://www.EllisHall.com), the legendary soul singer, formerly of Tower of Power, to thank for his rich musical beginnings. He attended The University of Massachusetts Lowell on a track scholarship. Ellis is classified as a songwriter, producer as well as a performing artist to make him one of the newest, freshest talents to hit the music scene.  Brief Discography: Redman - Red Gone Wild (Def Jam) Method Man - Tical 0: The Prequel (Def Jam) Michael Whalen - Mysterious Ways (Koch) Biker Boyz Motion Picture Soundtrack (Dreamworks) This Is A Game Ladies - Basket Ball Documentary (PBS/Partisan Pictures)

Ellis uses his bike for transportation.

Kevin - bass/vocals

Kevin Cooper

Kevin Cooper is a Grammy Award winning Bass Player from San Diego. His career includes recording with Major Record Labels, National television appearances, and a Broadway Show performance where he also received 4 Tony Award nominations. In recent years Kevin had the honor of studying with Ravi Shankar in New Delhi India. He performed on Anoushka Shankar’s Grammy nominated CD "Rise" in 2006 and on a Grammy Winning CD with Ike Turner in 2007. Kevin served as Ike's musical director for over five years. He's performed at legendary festivals including the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Kevin hates to drive and he loooooves eating taco's!!!

Jenny - vocals

Jenny Nowinski

Liquid Blue's newest and youngest BlueGirl, Jenny Nowinski, is a commanding vocalist and dancer. She accompanied the band on our 2011 tour of China, singing in Taiwanese, Japanese and English. Jenny was awarded the title of San Diego Idol in 2002 and “made it to Hollywood” in American Idol Season II. She spent 7 years as an a cappella singer at University of California, San Diego where she received a Master of Education, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and BA in Psychology.

Jenny is well mannered and sometimes conservative in appearance but she has a not so mild wild side too.

Wrekless - drums

Wrekless Watson

Wrekless Watson is Liquid Blue's new drummer and started with the band when long time drummer Angelo Frisina injured his shoulder. Wrekless is a wildman behind the drums (hence the name) but steady and solid as well.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Butch “Wrekless” Watson has been playing since the age of 7, making him a third generation drummer following in the steps of his father Wally “Gator” Watson and Wesley Landers. Wrekless studied at Fierello H. LaGuardia H.S., Harlem School of The Arts, and the Music Advancement Program at The Julliard School. He has had the opportunity to work with the likes of Lionel Hampton and the Lionel Hampton Big Band, The Cab Calloway Orchestra, The Long Island Youth Orchestra, Tito Puente, Shania Twain, and a host of others. He is now living in San Diego and studying Biology.

Wrekless is the flashiest dresser in the band.

Scott - vocals

Scott Stephens

Lead vocalist, hype-man, founder, manager & chief songwriter Scott Stephens has charted the course for Liquid Blue since 1996. Scott spent four years as a professional Roller Derby skater with the Los Angeles Thunderbirds and still carries his skates to every city the band visits. At age 16 he founded "Raw Power Magazine", the world's first punk/metal magazine. He holds a BA in Communications with a minor in Fine and Performing Arts from Alaska Pacific University. Scott also owns Encinitas Insurance and is a Chartered Financial Consultant. A Southern California native raised in Los Angeles and residing and surfing in San Diego since 1985.

A modern "hippie" who downs Kombucha, organic Green Tea or Free Trade Coffee between Yoga sessions. Scott envisions Liquid Blue performances on the Moon and various planets of our solar system. His attempts to build an all-electric, zero carbon emission spacecraft have failed but he does believe the Klingons have this technology will be willing to share it after peace talks.

Optional Performers

Add Sax or a full three piece horn section (BlueBrass) and/or a DJ for your next event.

Rick - saxophone

He has composed and arranged music for television and film and appeared numerous times on national television, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Good Morning America, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, MTV, and VH-1 David Letterman, and many others) and was a featured soloist on the Grammy-Award winning multi-platinum CD The Dirty Boogie. He has played in the most famous venues around the world with legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Bobby Caldwell, Stanley Clark, George Duke, Cher, and Shakira..

Liquid Blue is available with or without a horn section. One to six horns are available.

Layla - dj/vocals

Layla Loxa

DJ Layla Loxa is Liquid Blue's DJ as well as a singer and dancer. She was the lead DJ at the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota and when not gigging with Liquid Blue is a regular with Princess Cruise Lines. Layla is also a sports star, winning the World Bodysurfing Championship in 2002 and placing in the top 10 every year since. She also finished third in the U.S. Surfing Championships in 2003. Layla has been a member of Liquid Blue since 1998 as one of the original BlueGirls. Aside from being a world-class DJ, Layla is a singer, dancer, karaoke hostess and champion surfer!

Liquid Blue is available with or without a DJ.

Additional Performers

Below are more optional performers including percussion, vocals, dancers and other instruments.

Gina - vocals

Gypsy Gina

The smallest BlueGirl with the biggest smile is also one of the bands best dancers. Gypsy Gina is trained in theater and has a sweet voice well suited for ballads and opera. She had a acting role in the play "Vagina Monologues" in 2006 and has had several additional roles in musicals and plays. Gina graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with a BA in Communication.

With no legal name given and no proof of ID, we’re not really sure who this gypsy girl is. But the consensus is when she’s not on stage singing, dancing and having a good time, she's most likely singing, dancing and having a good time. Probably with you.

Angelo - drums

Angelo Frisina

Drummer Angelo Frisina lays down the foundation that allows the band to soar. Angelo is sponsored by Sabian cymbals. He is from Perth, Australia and now resides in Los Angeles. He was a session player in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Australia before coming to the United States. Angelo trained with world-class drummer Nate Morton and is proficient in jazz, rock, Latin and virtually every style of popular music. One of his primary influences is Stewart Copeland (The Police).

Angelo was born and raised in Perth Western Australia by a very traditional, old school Italian family. Angelo's very first "drum kit" was actually a collection of old pasta pots and used wine barrels. Is there some correlation between his calm demeanor and the fact he cannot pass a urine test?

Charlie - bass

Charlie Lenud

Bassist Charlie Lenud has performed with Liquid Blue off and on since 2000. Charlie states: "I joined the world famous group when they were just san diego's best local band". He's skilled veteran competent in many styles but his first love is the blues. Charlie recently went on a journey to the backroads of the deep south searching for the real blues. He sought out (and found) many blues masters who were still alive. Charlie designed Carvin's #1 selling guitar "clearburst" paint scheme. He's performed and recorded with local blues legend Tomcat Courtney. He plays bass, guitar, harmonica and sings.

Band members often rip Charlie as he still doesn't have a cell phone. We eventually hope to welcome him into the modern world!

Aiden - guitar

Aidan Spencer

Guitarist Aidan Spencer is the newest member to join the Liquid Blue family. A native of San Diego, Aidan is a 2011 graduate of Musicians Institute’s Guitar Program in Hollywood, Ca. He is also a songwriter and part-time actor, having performed in 2 movies with his former band, The Fabulous Rudies. Not bad for a guy who is camera shy! Aidan is a quiet guy, who comes alive on stage with his guitar in hand.

Aidan loves to drive and travel, but has little sense of direction. Without his GPS, we’d never see him again.
